PMP Exam Training Online - Expectations

Like any online training, there are advantages and disadvantages to any PMP Exam Training Online course. However, you will find that the advantages far outweigh the disadvantages in terms of comfort and convenience, completeness and comprehensiveness, and cost considerations. You can also assume great expectations when you do avail of the PMP Exam Training Online course.

Pass Certification Exams

If your reason for taking the PMP Exam Training Online course is to pass the PMP exam (obviously), then you are halfway there. The other half rests on your application of your energies and time to the course itself.

Usually, your e-training modules will follow the Project Management Body of Knowledge Guide (PMBOK Guide). This is the bible of the Project Management Institute, which should be your bible, too, in your journey towards PMP certification and Project Manager success.

Relearn Theory

If your work experience involves practical applications of theory, the PMP Exam Training Online course will refresh project management theories. Indeed, you must have a good grasp of theory before you can successfully implement projects, not only because theory provides a solid foundation but also because you have a guide in your project management journey.

You will relearn the talk behind the walk, so to speak, about the following:

- nine knowledge areas - integration, scope, time, cost quality, human resources, communications, risk, and procurement
- process inputs/outputs and where they are used and produced
- process tools and techniques
- formulas and applications, and
- professional responsibilities

Application Benefits

You can apply what you learned in the PMP Exam Training Online course in your work as Project Manager. You can improve the processes and procedures necessary to efficiently and effectively manage projects, whether in software, automation, constructions and many other industries.

With the knowledge you gain, you can produce more results at a lesser time and with higher quality. This is assuming that you can and will implement the applicable concepts, of course. Learning is very different from applying, as you well know.

With proper application, you can be an effective leader and project manager. You should expect that interpersonal skills and human resources issues will be discussed during the e-training, not only with your online instructors but also with the other participants through -mails and instant messaging.

Employment Opportunities

Once you pass the PMP certification exam, with no small help from the PMP Exam Training Online course, you are opening many more doors of opportunity. You have an edge over other Project Managers without the certification. This is assuming that all other things - education and experience, among them - almost being equal.

Of course, there are sectors who will tell you that the PMP certification makes no difference at all. Well, everybody is entitled to their own opinions. However, the PMP certification does present a very good addition to your resume since it shows you have the patience to apply yourself to a rigorous process and you have the project management experience necessary to acquire the certification in the first place. After all, it does take eight years of experience and thousands of hours logged before you can even apply to take the exam!

Great expectations are nothing new to e-training. Ultimately, these great expectations rest on your decision to actually use the knowledge you gained. Beyond that, e-training has no control.

Pintu,
You state "This is the bible of the Project Management Institute, which should be your bible, too, in your journey towards PMP certification and Project Manager success".

Upon what basis do you make the connection between following the PMBOK Guide and project success? PMI and the PMBOK Guide have been around for 40 some odd years, and yet the success rate for projects remains abysmal by nearly every credible piece of research.

I would hope that instead of blindly accepting the marketing hype spewed by PMI, that you would take a more balanced approach and base your conclusions on facts and not wishful thinking.
